Oh boy, Christmas has snuck up on me this year, as I feel like it has done to most people. It feels like Christmas, Weather wise, but not like any other years. I mean it could feel different because I'm twenty and don't see my family as much anymore but I don't feel like people talk about it much this year. In my opinion, the economy ruined Christmas. Sad. Hopefully next year it will be better.
Just because I am bored I will share with you my family traditions.
Every year my family alternates having Christmas on Christmas morning and Christmas Eve.
This is because we are German and in Germany the act of opening presents is done on Christmas Eve and Christmas is just for eating and spending time with family. When we celebrate the American way we open one present on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas. Also on the sixth of December if you leave your boot outside your door to your house St. Nicholas (what Germans call Santa Claus) will put candy and toys in it. This is called Nikolaustag. There is a few things different but all in all Christmas is Christmas.
I hope everyone has a good one!
