I will keep your daughter safe.

In one of my Family and Human Services classes we have a guest speaker almost every week. Today we had a guest speaker who was supposed to talk about youth services but instead went on a tangent about the war in Iraq and mainly the sexual abuse going on Iraq. Her daughter's name is Suzanne Swift. She is internationally recognized for reporting her commanding officers who were sexually abusing her. This hits home to me mainly because I want to join the Air force when I graduate from college and statistics show that one in three women get sexually assaulted in the military. I really appreciate stories like this that I can relate to and learn from. I would recommend reading her story and asking yourself, If you were stuck in the middle of nowhere and the person who controlled how safe you were, when you ate, took a shower, sexually assaulted you, would you have the balls to say something?
